Frequently Asked QuestionsHow does the Pinnacle of Terror develop resilience, self worth, self motivation & break the cycle of destructive habits & relationships?Our Youth Intervention Programs include experiential activities and facilitation techniques to identify, manage, and challenge youth ‘at risk’ by building self worth, motivation and resilience thru- 1) Empowerment once fears are conquered. Participants believe that if they have completed the obstacles of the Pinnacle, they can also complete other formidable tasks! Adventure Therapy represents a concrete and real sense of accomplishment that can be used to draw strength from in the future. This leads to increased self confidence and directs participants towards positive personal growth and builds hope for the future. 2) Authentic affirmations and mentoring break the cycle of negativity and put-downs and inputs positive peer pressure. 3) Emphasizing teamwork that brings out strengths and abilities which builds a sense of connectedness, appreciation of uniqueness, and assists in increasing employability. 4) Extending personal limits, promoting tenacity and alleviation of factors that lead to depression and lack of motivation. How many participants can use the Pinnacle of Terror program per day? Sessions are broken up into a 20 minute block of experiential learning (inside a hall or classroom is ideal), then 70 minutes of practical application activities on the Pinnacle of Terror. We are flexible and do our utmost to cater for individual and school needs/times. We are able to run programs for approximately 60 participants per day. We have 3 Session Pinnacle Youth Intervention Programs for schools and organizations where we cater for groups of up to 20 participants per session with sessions approximately 1 ½ hours in duration. For example we book one session every Monday afternoon for 3 weeks. For fetes/carnivals & community events, the 6 activities on the Pinnacle can be used by approximately 40 participants per hour, with up to 3 activities running at the same time. What size area do you need to set the Pinnacle up on?We need a level area 18m X12m. We need an area that allows us to park the Pinnacle trailer facing South/West due to the belayer needing to face away from the sun, on flat ground. Do you have Public Liability Insurance?Yes, absolutely. We have a current $10 million public liability policy with Altiora Insurance Brokers. What training and qualifications do the staff have?Senior Staff have a nationally recognised Indoor Climbing Leadership Certificate for the Pinnacle of Terror (PACI accredited - Professional Association of Climbing Instructors) . While running any Pinnacle Program, we have a staff member trained in Senior First Aid in attendance at all times. All volunteer and casual staff have received training on the Pinnacle activities and are under supervision of Senior Staff. In compliance with Queensland legislation, all: Full time Pinnacle staff have a current Blue Card, Part time/Volunteer staff have a current Volunteer Blue Card, Casual Volunteer/under 18's staff are not required by law to have a current blue card and will be supervised by a Senior Staff member. Full day Program - $990 includes GST (60 participants max) 3 Session Program over 3 days - $990 includes GST (60 participants max) ½ day Program - $495 includes GST (4 hours, 40 participants max) Plus Travel Cost (local) - $55 -$165 includes GST. All bookings will be confirmed via email when a Booking Form and a deposit of 50% of total costs is received. How safe is the Pinnacle?Pinnacle unit and equipment: Safety is our highest priority. The Pinnacle of Terror unit was designed and constructed in consultation with engineers. The unit itself undergoes regular inspections by an engineering firm to ensure optimal safety. All equipment used on the Pinnacle (belay ropes, steel and alloy carabiners, slings, belay devices, harnesses, pulleys, and helmets) are inspected monthly and hours of use are comprehensively logged. All equipment is immediately retired if it shows any sign of failure to meeting safe operating standards. Personal: Senior Staff have appropriate safety and emergency training.
